I had the pleasure of accompanying my two great friends from cellardoorscore as they toured the beautiful #KingValley wine region. We visited 8 cellar doors and my absolute favourites were #Pizzini and #Dalzotto. Delicious wine and passionate staff, you couldn't help but get excited about the wine tastings. True Italian hospitality! But the best part about these two gems, was the location. Set on the banks of the King River, big lush green lawn looking out over the valley and the mountains. I can already picture myself there in spring, lounging in the sun with a lovely Pinot Grigio. Keep an eye on cellardoorscore.com in the coming days for the cellar door reviews as well as a snapshot of the region.
#Borolo, #Barbaresco and truffles are what our final destination in Italy is famous for and what a way to end an amazing journey. Now time to start planning the return trip! #Soave is home to a dry white wine of the same name. The town itself is dominated by a huge castle ruin, perched on the hill above town. It was a great region to spend some time with a number of cellar doors conveniently located in town. See our reviews at http://www.cellardoorscore.com/soave.html #wine #cellardoor
Just an hour from Melbourne, #MorningtonPeninsula provides a variety of great #cellardoorexperiences and produces some beautiful wines including Pinot & Chardonnay. There are also plenty of amazing dining experiences in the region. Congratulations to Polperro and Port Phillip Estate who each received a "1 door" rating and to Merricks General Wine Store for receiving our "hidden gem" award.
