The cellar door is attached to the winery and is situated amongst fruit trees, as the winery was previously an orchard. There are a couple of outdoor chairs and tables around the entrance

The cellar door staff member was friendly, happy to talk us through the wines, told us about the history, including that of the "Pistol Packin' Mama" wine range and showed us into the factory. Then the owner arrived and gave us a tour of the facilities and elaborated a little more on the history and processes

The winery is an old apple farm, which made the fruit shed perfect for converting into a winery. We were shown the old apple cool store that is now used as the barrel room, the smell of oak is incredible. Ross Hill has two long lunches a year, and they have plans to improve their outdoor seating and gardening area in the future
