There are a lot of carparks but this cellar door is also home to one of the best restaurants in the area so can get busy around lunch time

The cellar door is within a beautiful stone building with a peaked roof and looks out over Lake Hayes and the mountains in the background. The building also houses the restaurant, including a cosy seating area by the fireplace and also has outdoor seating overlooking the pretty scenery and large grassed area

The tasting room is just off the foyer of the restaurant and is modern with wooden accents, a big chunky tasting bench and nice pendant lights above the tasting bench

This is the second time we have had lunch here and both times have been memorable and delicious. We did the "Trust the Chef" menu which was amazing and thankfully we had a sunny day and our warm coats on so we were able to sit outside and take in the views of the snow capped mountains

Whilst the restaurant does have a full a la carte menu, we noticed a lot of tables were enjoying tasting platters if you feel like a more casual lunch
