Valpolicella is home of Amarone, a really strong almost jammy wine made from grapes dried in racks for 4 months at the wineries. Also made in the region is Ripasso, which is made as by product of the Amarone but provides a product that is less alcoholic and jammy than the Amorone. We quite enjoyed the Ripasso's of the region.
When visiting this region we stayed in Soave, another beautiful Italian wine region. For an amazing dining experience in the region, be sure to check out Enoteca Della Valpolicella, where the food and the staff were amazing and provided one of our best dining experiences in Italy.
