The Verdict
To "Cellarbrate": Great outdoor space with a nice feel, there were even fresh bunches of grapes placed around to add to the atmosphere. It was fantastic on a nice sunny day and there are also inside tasting seats if the weather is not so good. No appointment necessary (unless you want to do a tour) To "Wine about": Only 3 wines available to taste, but still gives a good sense of what is on offer How many bottles did we buy: - Suitable for: Couples, Large groups, Wine lovers, Families Visited September 2017 (weekend) |

There is a large free paved public carpark, located in front of C.V.N.E. in the station district. You can park here and walk around all the wineries in the station district. There is also some street parking around the area
The wine bar is in a purpose built architecturally designed building that is in the shape of a decanter. You can sit inside the modern building or outside in the courtyard, that has quirky bright coloured furniture

The tasting room is modern with extreme angles, and seating and shelves running down both sides of the room which draws you to the huge antique exhibition stall at the back of the room. We understand the building was built in order to contain this antique exhibition and is part of the history of the winery

We were served straight away
The cellar door assistant ran us through all 3 wines and was good at explaining the differences between them
Friendly and professional, offered to bring our tastings to our table outside in a cool wooden tray. English, French, German and Spanish spoken by all the wine bar attendants

There was no seating at the exhibition stall but 90% of people seemed to choose a chair and table setting either inside or outside
There were coasters in the form of wine labels under each of the glasses of wine so that you knew which one you were tasting

You do not need to make an appointment to just do a tasting, but make sure you check the opening hours (usually posted on the gate/entry), as we found for a number of wine bars in the region that these times differed to those on the website. As you are also effectively purchasing a reasonable sized glass of wine for your tasting, we suggest sharing the glasses you buy if you want to sample a wider range of what is on offer
