Very pretty formal garden with hedges, roses, deciduous trees and fountains.  Plenty of outdoor tables and even some outdoor bean bags.  Beautiful lawns overlooking a huge lake with a walking trail around it

Small wait, as they were quite busy (we were here just before lunch on a Saturday), however they did call in another staff member to help in order to reduce wait time
Both staff members were able to provide insights and cellaring recommendations on all the wines.

We noted that a couple of the wines were sold at national retailers for significantly less than at the cellar door, although with the free membership this will reduce the gap.  We have visited Josef Chromy a number of times and every time has been great.  This time was our first visit to the restaurant and it had a refreshingly different menu that appeared to have a lot of Japanese flavours.  All in all a great experience.
