There is 600m of gravel road from the Woodend end of the road or 2.6km from the Melbourne end. It is well signposted and there is a 200m gravel driveway in good condition

There are a lot of carparks however they were in the middle of harvest the day we were there which took up a lot of space
The cellar door has some beautiful green lawns, formal gardens and paved areas around the cellar door

The tasting room is a renovated old house where the back rooms have been opened out to form a large room with beautiful big tables, exposed brick walls, fireplace and some lovely art on the walls

The knowledge of the wines and their cellaring potential is always excellent at this cellar door and on many occasions we have spoken to the winemaker himself who is happy to spend time with you (if they are not too busy!)
Always very friendly and welcoming
Yes, on an informal basis if you are interested. Phil has shown us through the winery on 3 of the occasions we have visited and is always really excited to show us the processes in the winery at the time and any new improvements he has added
You never do a tasting standing up at this cellar door! You are welcomed in and then asked to choose from the tables to take a seat and they bring the Riedel glasses and bottles for you to taste

They do run a lunch twice a year where a very highly regarded chef is always invited to create a meal that is matched to the Curly Flat wine range and usually includes back vintages. We are yet to attend but it is on our to do list!

Mobile phone and internet reception can be very patchy around this cellar door, so be sure to have directions or a hard copy of a map to find your way. We have visited this cellar door many times and have taken friends and overseas visitors there as we love the wine and the experience. The pinot is one of our favorites and the welcoming nature of all those involved in the winery makes it a pleasure to visit
