Châteauneuf du Pape, one of our favourite regions to pronounce 😉 is home to some spectacular wines and a great place to try a few out is Cave du Verger des Papes
A centuries old historic site with five rooms carved into the limestone rock, including one containing two thirty hectolitre vats of Gallo-Roman origin previously used to ferment the wine, the cellar offers for sale more than 150 wines.
With a daily selection of 3 or 4 wines to taste and a passionate team that is happy to walk you through the caves and explain the history and the extensive rules for the appellation, if you are ever in the region, be sure to venture into the somewhat ominous looking cave entry! 😀🍷
